Consultancy
Professor Iwaniec has provided consultancy for various professional
groups over a 30- year period including social workers and residential
child-care workers, health visitors, paediatricians, psychologists,
lawyers, teachers, and parents themselves, in the following areas:
- emotional abuse and neglect;
- failure to thrive in children;
- behavioural and incontinence problems of children and adolescents;
- attachment and attachment disorders;
- parenting problems;
- developmental crises and hazards in childhood and adolescence;
- care planning for children in public care
Training – Courses and Workshops
Professor Iwaniec has provided many training courses and workshops
nationally and internationally over the last 25 years in the areas
of her expertise which include:
- Emotional abuse and neglect;
- Failure to thrive in children;
- Child development and developmental hazards;
- Attachment and attachment disorders;
- Intervention and treatment of emotionally and behaviourally
disturbed children and adolescents using multi-dimensional approaches;
- Communicating with children and families;
- Improving parenting capacity and parent/child interaction
– behavioural and cognitive approaches;
- Care planning for children at risk of abuse and decision
making;
- Family law – preparation of reports based on evidence.
Over 150 workshops and courses have been provided in Brazil,
Canada, Hong Kong, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Belgium,
United States, Republic of Ireland and many places in the UK.
Professor Iwaniec still continues to provide training in the
areas listed above both nationally and internationally.
